Banos (Ecuador) is THE PLACE to experiment several extreme sports in pristine nature at a very low price. My friends and I really intended to try as much activities as possible during the week; so we started walking around the multiple tourist agencies and bargaining for some good prices. We got several good price but there is more than just saving money: what really matters is the price/quality offer. Our final choice was
For 75$ we would get a full day Canyoning (food included), a day of biking the waterfall road and a hald a day of rafting. Back home 75$ can barely get me half a day of any of those activities and in an a way less inviting environment.
Our Canyoning Day
We walked to the agency and arrived at 9:00 am where our guides (Thomas, Martin and another cool dude) got us shoes, water suit and the rest of the required safety material.
We drove a beautiful road for around 45 minutes and stopped at the feet of a small waterfall. Gearing up and taking a few photos was fun and we then received a basic instruction class by Thomas.
The ascension in the mountain then began. We arrived to a river under a bridge and the fun began!
Here is my gopro video of the day.
